History

About two years ago George Kelly had an idea.

A few months later Rowan Marshall was working for him.

With George as lead singer, Rowan as Musical Director, and other musos - Will Hughes (Bass), John Abbot (Guitar), Katherine Burr (Vocals), Ian Worsfold (Drums, Percussion) - the aptly named 'George's Band' was formed - They performed at WoZ Fest 2010... The band were good... The festival? Not so much...

George and Rowan returned to the drawing board - redesigned the set list and sound - reworked the arrangements and booked players.

Having rejected Rowan's idea 'The George Kelly Experience', and 'The George Kelly Experiment' - George settled for the name 'Medication Time' - a pop culture reference.

Setting the date of our launch party - June 25th - Rowan set about booking players.

With Mr. William Hughes on Bass Guitar and Ian Worsfold on Kit, it was just a case of finding a new female vocalist due to Katherine's unavailability.

Finding Emma Evan's from Rowan and George's connections with Musical Theatre, they launched on the 25th with a strong following of friends, family and some strangers.

Employing guitarist they began cleaning their sound, focusing on tight vocal harmonies and beautiful arrangements.

Booked for weddings, Christmas parties, pub gigs, festivals, the band clocked up over twenty gigs in their first year - not bad considering it was all through word of mouth.

Discovering that they had a strong following they also held their own functions - it was fun.

Returning, briefly, to a five-piece, the band played at Tilfest in June 2012 - with rehearsals with a new guitarist beginning shortly.

They plan to celebrate their one year anniversary in July 2012 at a free party!
